Porcelain-artists.comis a business website used by the client, Diane Guinn, to sell custom porcelain ornaments and provide the porcelain community with a forum for collaborating and learning new bisque porcelain techniques.
I would like to restate the immediate goals for the group since it was removed from the frontpage: We need to develop a timeline and delegate tasks to group members by 6/8/2008. I think it would be helpful to have our group agenda and collaboration notes posted on the front page and make the 'Porcelain Artists Management Page' a link from there.
Toby... I kind of agree with you that the front page should be the collaboration page.
However, if you go to the Prof. Assignments Page, you'll see that the link for our group 6 Management Page brings you here to the front page. So either the instructor would have to update his link to point to another Management Page, or we as a group can click the collaboration page link in the sidebar.
I messed up when I sent the instructor the link to the Management Page by sending the front page instead of the direct Management Page link.
As group leader it's your call, so let me know which you prefer and I'll remedy the situation.
Ok guys I'm finally up on this front page stuff. For assignment 2 to it looks like we are going to have to draw up a deadline as to who does what and when goals are going to be met. I know how to use microsoft project... only thing is that I've lost my copy when my computer got reloaded. I can obtain another copy soon though.
So I guess now we have to lay out we need to achieve and who's good at what... I hope I'm not stepping on your toes Bernice being that this is your project. I just thought I throw my two cents in and try to catch up on everything.
In regards to Alexander's comment about Microsoft Project, I vote we create our timeline and task allocations using web based tools, and not any of Microsoft's desktop applications.
That would be great. The current search engine works, but the style is not consistent with the rest of the site. Let me know if you have any trouble accessing the development area.
Bernice, we need to turn in Diane Guinn's business phone number for the assignment. Either you have to be the one to submit the project , or you need to email us the number. I think we should submit the assignment saturday at 11:00PM. I will do it if I have the client's number.
Team, if anyone can get a hold of Diane Guinn, The professor is holding back 1/2 score until he talks to her to make sure everything is cool. also he said the phone number for her was not where he was expecting to find it. He has it now, but as of lunch time today he hadnt talked to her.
Like I said on the 'Team Collaboration Page': Someone submitted our project as just 'porcelain-artists.com' . We were supposed to have the client's phone number and our project management site in the assignment submission.
ive talked to the prof 3 times, why doesnt someone else from our team give him a call and make sure he has the link to the mgmt site and the customer's contact info and that we don't end up with a 50% lower grade? He is waiting on 3 teams for missing stuff, and he said he wants to finish and publish final grades by thursday morning.

Bernice, good point about the instructors link to frontpage. Having the 'Team Collaboration Page' on the side works fine.

we should probably look at google apps if you don't want to use microsoft desktop solutions.
